Formnext — A Global Meeting Point for 3D Printing
First held in Frankfurt in 2015, Formnext has grown into one of the world’s leading exhibitions for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing. Organised by Mesago Messe Frankfurt, it connects technology suppliers, industry professionals and the international 3D printing community.
Its recent editions show the scale of this global gathering. Formnext 2024 welcomed 864 exhibitors and 34,404 visitors. In 2025, its 10th anniversary year, 804 exhibitors met 38,282 visitors, with 61% of exhibitors and 47% of visitors coming from outside Germany.
The exhibition covers the complete additive manufacturing workflow, including 3D printers, production equipment, filaments and other materials, 3D scanners, design software, automation, post-processing and quality inspection. It brings the tools for turning digital ideas into finished parts together under one roof.
AI is also playing a growing role. Exhibitors have presented AI-supported design and automation solutions, while the 2026 presentation program includes artificial intelligence in design, process control and safety.
For engineers, designers, manufacturers, researchers, and business owners, Formnext offers opportunities to compare technologies and make new connections. For makers and 3D printing enthusiasts, it is a chance to see new tools and applications up close—and find inspiration for the next project.
R3D Returns for the Fifth Time
This year marks R3D’s fifth appearance at Formnext Germany.
